My Ride: 1998 528i/5 blk/blk sport pkg, 2001 updated bumper + trim, Style 42 wheels, UUC short shifter, CDV delete, M5 rear swaybar, aftermarket amp MBQ speakers 10" sub
Greetings from North Carolina - 1998 528i owner (since 2000)
Been driving a 1998 528i/5 sport package since December 2000 - bought it with 29K miles, now it has a hair under 150K.
The car:
Black/black, sport package
Some mods over the years:
Victor leather 4-spoke steering wheel
UUC short throw shifter
Drilled-out clutch delay valve
M5 rear swaybar
2001+ bumper and painted moldings
Style 42 wheels with 245/45/17 at all four corners
Replacement front armrest with storage
5-channel amplifier with MBQuart separates and 10" sub (over battery compartment)
I just installed an aftermarket replacement (2001+) polyurethane bumper (bought from eBay) and it looks great - cost only $150 shipped (but had to have it painted)
Hella HID lamps with DEPO smoked covers (non-CELIS) and euro-spec M5 red/white taillights
Some nagging issues:

Some nagging issues:
- Airbag light on - recently changed slip ring, but now think that the battery safety terminal may be the culprit
- MID has very few pixels remaining
- Driver seat outboard panel broken - needs to be changed
- front suspension not perfect - pretty sure my original bushings need to be changed
