What? No snow? Thought you were drowning over there - or maybe it's just those in the North who got it?

Seriously - to the forum - great lookin car! Be careful reading this forum, though - it may cost you a fortune in upgrades
I know what you mean. i was'nt suppose to mod this car at all as i promised the lady....but it has'nt been 2 days and i've ordered black grills, black and white bmw badges and upgraded the bulbs for brighter angel eyes.....probably order the smoked rear lights next week and take a little break for a few months or the lady might start noticing some dramatic changes lol

Trust me the Sprint Booster is very popular on this forum, can't go wrong. It won't cure the turbo lag completely but it will help A LOT!
thanks buddy, just wanted to be sure before i ordered it.

Its an automatic. Is the sprint booster a cable or a chip? the ones i've seen in the uk look like a chip on the advertisment but the ones i've seen on youtube installations look like a cable?
It's more of a cable. You take off the gas pedal plastic area (which takes like literally 5 minutes) and you simply plug it in. Put the pedal back on and you're done!

Congrats on the purchase and welcome!

That's it -- simply a cable that plugs in between the accelerator and existing plug back to the engine management system.

They cost around 200 pounds and significantly improve the response times on the car -- with your 2L auto diesel it will be a big improvement, it was on both my 525d and 530d automatics. Money VERY well spent.

The principle is as follows: the accelerator is electric so simply sends different "voltages" as you press the accelerator, with a maximum of around 1.2 volts if I recall correctly. The Sprint Booster increases the voltage earlier, but does not (should not!) go over the maximum, i.e. at 10% pressing down, the Sprint Booster tells the engine management system you are already at 50% pressed down, which in turn gives quicker response times through reduced throttle lag... and bingo you've reduced an element of lag in the car.

yeh snows pretty bad, i hav'nt driven the 5 series in the snow yet, i've left it in my driveway till the snow stops. have you got xenons? i noticed you have upgraded your angel eye bulbs? did you just replace the standard 501 bulbs to the LED bulbs? i replaced my ones with the 501 LED bulbs this morning. It definetly made a change to the colour to white but they dont seem that bright. i don't know if it was because it was daylight and the sun was out this morning but it doesnt seem that bright! you think thesebulbs were'nt powerful enough or it was the lighting? im going to switch them on 2nite to see the difference in the dark.

here's a pic of the difference this morning........

Welcome mate, I'm also new here. I've had my car for a few months now but only got into the forums recently. Joined as I am looking to upgrade the bulbs on my car. This place is great as its got so much useful stuff. My headlights are the same as yours...that is standard halogen. I plan to get upgraded bulbs for the angeleyes, dipped beam as well as the foglights. I like xenons for the headlights and have been learning there's a lot to know about it all ! Still undecided about after maket xenon HID kits especially as we the standard reflector type headlights instead of the projector (like a ball / dome shaped) headlights. Best is to retrofit OEM xenons but I believe that's not that simple and rather expensive. To keep it simple I might just go with HID/Xenon look halogen bulbs like the Philips Diamond Vision which looks pretty good. Anyway, enjoy the car. Looks very nice.

ps: I know what you mean about car mods and keeping the lady happy at the same time !! Can't neglect either
