My Ride: 535d M Sport / Carbon Black Metallic / Aluminium cube / black leather sports seats / Prof. SatNav / Bluetooth.
Hi Guys,
I have been lurking for a couple of months reading your modding tales and planning what to do....
Had a few BMW's of lesser scale but now having a great time in a 535d M Sport in Carbon Black Metallic (very dark blue...)which I bought at the end of Feb. The 535d badge does seem to generate a response from other drivers, especially their right foot! I love the performance and fuel consumption (averaging 34.4 imperial mpg over 7,000 miles).
I now wish I had included Xenons in my spec. and am wondering what I can do about that (HID upgrades? ... but I really want the projector lenses).
I am swapping the Dunlop DSST's as they are noisy and too hard - sound like discs are grinding under braking. Will have Goodear F1 Asymmetrics or Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta non runflats on in the next week or two. Anyone recommend which?
Started to dip my toe but no real mods yet, just a Pinguhk's bulbs (work well) and some carbon badges which have yet to be swapped.
Want list includes:
M5 mirrors
Sound system upgrade (have base model )
iPod connector
Bigger bucket of cash
Lots of things I do not yet know exist but you guys will enlighten me ...
Mike

Welcome on board and congrats on the new ride!
What rims do you have -- 18" M135 rim with 245s all round or the 19" M172 rim with 245 front and 275 rear?
If its the latter, then I can highly recommend the Michalin PS2s, which I have for my summer set up here in Germany. In the UK you may however be going for an all-year tyre, so not sure how well the Michalins hold up in winter/lower temperatures. Put a up post in the E60 Discussion section with more details and you should get the advice you are looking for...
Enjoy the forums!
