Default 2008 BMW 535 xi AWD, DSC, ABS and Emerg EBV

Hello to Everyone,

I have a 2008 BMW 535 xi reading 105K miles year to date. Two days ago, I got a warning displayed on my OBD, which reads ( AWD, DSC, ABS and Emerg EBV plus engine light)??? I have a service appointment schedule for 2/13/14. I live in columbus, ohio and it has been really cold (-0 degrees) on and off for the last month or so. My car is no longer under warrenty. My car is parked in the gargage at nights.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so what is the solution and is it a costly repair?

I dont want to get hit with unnessary cost by BMW they are good for it.

Also I want to be armed with some knowledge as to what the issue might be before thursday apppointment.

btw I had autozone check my battery over the weekend and it is good (at 89% charge) per service advisor. Thanks!!

Default AWD, DSC, ABS, and EMERG EBV

Hi rtorbert,

I have very similar situation with the same AWD, DSC, ABS, and EMERG EBV msg.

2008, 535xi, in Toronto, Canada ( just passed a very cold winter ) my wife drives it 8 miles one way to work. parked in the garage. had one weak battery replaced 3 years ago under warranty, changed the brake last year.

The above msg has shown up for days. Today I tried to charge the battery, reset the msg by turning the wheel to left end then right most. test-drove for 1 mile and the msg showed up again. The battery condition should be better than last time. Last time, the battery couldn't hold date and time settings and finally couldn't start the car.

I wonder if you can update how your car got fixed. Anyone can give me some advice?

Minye
