I was once a Q45 owner for 9yrs and loved the car, the NICO forum etc - got more than 170K miles out of it. Now starting a new love life with the 07 525i - fantastic car - agreed doesnt have the HP - but I need this as my daily car that is quiet, solid and is powerful enough for occassional rush . Great great car - one word describes it really well -tight. Just feels planted, built well et al.
In my first 270odd miles, I am getting avg of 27MPG (on dashboard) and on highway alone rides, I am seeing 31MPG. I hope this is all (close to) real . It only has 15K miles, CPO, Nav, Premium and Xenon, bought the Maintenance upgrade ($2K) for the additional 2yr/100K service window. I know it is expensive to maintain these cars (learnt from Q45 ownership - actually remarkably reliable - all fluid flushes every 2yrs did the trick).

Looking forward to a long love life with both the 525i and the e60.net.

cheers

Enjoy your new ride ... welcome to the Forums. Buy a SB - it'll help you overcome some of the lack of a V-8

Thanks!! This is a great club - already.
Mods? Yea, did I mention window tinting? Hehe! J/kidding. But I will do that this week/next. Next would probably be the iPod integration - still lot of reading up to do. I understand I missed the boat on the 6FL (started from 2008) - but reading up somewhere that 6FL retrofit might be available in the future - how true?
About performance upgrades, I will wait a little and enjoy this as is. When I get a little bored, I am sure one of those upgrades (intake/chip) will be the right thing to do (prob in 6months). Did I say 'long' love life? I plan to keep this for a while - so will be worried about anything that might impact the reliability factor.

Lot of reading to do though - immense amont of knowledge here - thanks primarily to folks like you all.
cheers
