It would be nice, but we can't please everyone.

I've considered that Klaus/BMW need at least 6-7 months to plan the event once we have the people commited, so counting back, that gives me until the middle to end of December to have at least 40 participants - PLUS guests. remember they can only take UP TO 90 people. If I don't get that by then, I will cease my effort.

I can't get BMW spun up and then find out people are not really serious in setting their time, or changes are being made. I put the three month window there to allow ample room for all you guys to plan - I can go anytime as we're already here, but I understand you world travelers need the long planning time to make it happen.

Once we get closer to the date, I will see which came out as the "most popular" month and we can talk again. Then I will give Klaus a heads-up with a definite month for him to plan. HE can then gives us the week they can do it in. Remember they'll be doing a lot more for us than the regular 2.5 hour-no questions-asked-walk-through.

So, there it is. I really think if we pull this off it will be a memorable week. Later in the year when (and if I see seriousness out there) I will start researching hotels and places for the group to stay along the planned route.

I also hope some of you here in Deutschland will pitch in with ideas and lastly, I am not the tour guide, so when I find suitable places for the group to stay, I will post the info and y'alls will be on your own to make your reservations and such. I'll just facilitate the info. Happy to do so!

Is that with y'alls?

Now, I don't mean to say that this is set in stone for those months or that the places I've selected are THE places to go. If you guys would like to do it while the World cup is in progress and everyone who's signed up agrees and changes their prefered months, we'll do that, but there's got to be a time when we say "This is it. This is THE month" and we stick to it as I will give BMW that time frame for them to do their thing. Consider that during the world cup, hotels will be more expensive - less available that's all...

Regards,
Santiago

Santiago,

You are to be commended for organizing this meet. I'm jealous that I won't be able to attend but am looking forward to hearing (and seeing pics) all about it from the members.

Thanks for your efforts!

Have faith Peter. We have 2 months for people to sign up and get the time set aside.

It's a tremendous opportunity to do something really fun - and more "interactive" than the IAA, and that was fun. This time we'd get to drive our cars to cool places. By the way, I will be ordering mine this Saturday for a January production and a possible early February delivery. Exciting times we're having.

Think positively.

PS. Rudy, thanks for your comments and I'm sorry you won't be able to attend. Can't you get away even if you plan it this far in advance?
