Something all should be aware of on arriving in SLO. The directions to the Courtyard will be not be accurate if downloaded from a mapping site due to new road construction.

FROM THE NORTH-Take the Los Osos Valley Rd. offramp--Turn RIGHT go to next stop light (about 50 yards) and turn LEFT on CALLE JOAQUIN.

FROM THE SOUTH-Take the Los Osos Valley Rd. offramp--Turn LEFT over the freeway turn Left at the second traffic light onto CALLE JOAQUIN.

It used to be Calle Joaquin and the freeway onramp had the same access road. Now they are separate.

Caravaning a pretty common thing in the motorcycle world. It is a special way to travel and be part of a group. That being said, there are a few things that come up in those type of rides.

First, each rider/driver needs to drive within their own limits and abilities. I'm not demeaning anyone or being insulting, we just need to check ourselves.
Leaders know that the group takes a while to move and gather up from stops. As quick as the leader takes off, the sweeper or tail end guy has to drive twice as fast to catch up. It's an accordion effect.
There are usually no verbal communications so hand signals and blinkers are used for various road hazards, lane changes, cops and so on.
When passing, (or when we to double file for the photo on Sat.) the tail end guys pull into the number 1 and 2 lanes and hold position, to block traffic from the rear and protect the integrity of the group.

I'd consider running someone out in front of the group about 10 minutes or so. He can call back with speed trap or road hazard info before the whole group gets involved.

Maybe a contact sheet is a good idea... (in case someone runs late or gets lost)
If everyone wants to message me their numbers i can compile a contact sheet and bring them to the LA meet point
OR maybe its better to send me your email and number so i can send them out so you have it before the meet point (running late)
