Not sure if those would work cause they don't have the subchannels. Also, it's not available in stores, only online.
It'll work... but it means that everyone else cant use sub channels... everyone will have to accommodate kc and use sub channel 0 meaning no sub channel

Driving with a cell phone is not a good idea, especially if you are riding alone like me. I think driving with a cell phone is illegal in CA this year??
If key members of this ride can't communicate occasionally via cell phone, with questions such as, "We have a problem," or "Please wait for us," I can all but guarantee walkie-talkies won't take up all the slack. We're driving through hills, folks, and walkie-talkies have limited ranges. I'd prefer a group ride, as opposed to a "meet-up" in SLO. I'm not advocating "How's the weather?" cell phone chats...
Finally, it isn't illegal to use a cell phone in California. What you're thinking of is: July 1 2008 begins California's new law requiring cell phone users to use (BlueTooth or wired) headsets or ear buds...i.e. no phones held up to the ear. (Motorcyclists are cheering this!)
