Yeah, we're gonna have to do something about that.
What we need is a 550 6speed to take on brian1225's 550 Step. I'd like to see the results of that.
I agree with Znod, step rules.Even against a 6 speed manual the gear ratio's favor the step.If launched correctly the step will always pull the manual, thereby causing the manual to spend the rest of the run trying to catch up.
I tried a couple of 0-60 runs the other day in 30F temps.I also reset my rollout to 9" to compensate for the diff I saw at the drag strip.I didn't expect the times to be as good as usual but to my surprise I clocked a 4.82 and a 4.98.This was with controls on,I get too much wheelspin in cold weather if I disable the controls.

Next time you have a meet, make brian practice the "grogan" method until he gets it right. If the temp is below 60F he should get below 5 sec 0-60 times.

Yes, yes... You are right. I forgot that the Step has better gearing than 6speed and SMG. We had mentioned this before.

So, that is why brian1225 beat hollywoodtrash off the line.

I'll drive brian1225's 550 the next time and show him how to properly brake torque.

About the IS. Other than that C&D test, I'm pretty sure the numbers between both "350s" are roughly the same. Of course things are always different in the real world. Just wondering, did you ever run brian from a roll? If so, what were the results.

Never got the chance. I'm curious myself but I think the 550 has the advantage. it has a lot more TQ and 2 extra cylindars.

I'll be more interested in seeing how the "350s" do in a roll. wanna find out?

Save it for later. Meet in Central Cali first with both your 545s. Line up the SLK 350 vs IS350 in December.
