Weeeellllll now....

From the very start of the meet, FlowerFred was talking about what a fantastic idea it would be to drive the cars on the beach - Top Gear style...

Literally when we finished eating and before paying the bills, he got up and said 'Right, I'm going to drive my car on the beach!', or something to that effect.

A few moments later, I thought we were shooting the Pilot episode of:

Baywatch: Belgium

Honestly, there was a crowd of people watching from the safety of the promenade guard rails and over the next hour or so, everybody was watching, observing, laughing. Now, I don't speak Flemish or Dutch...but there was one old couple that I am sure was swearing profusely!!!

The distance from the down ramp to the edge of sea was about 25 metres I guess and he made it halfway.

The soft, yellow sands of the Belgian Riviera took an instant liking to the BMW wheels and brake pads and discs...

Over to the other members of the film crew....

Baywatch WILL RETURN!!!

I either left too early or just in time. Sorry for the early departure but I had to stop in Mons and have some turkey dinner with some work friends of mine at SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers, Europe). However, I think the real TURKEYS were in Oostende. Now I know why Fred told the wife to go shopping. I'd like to be there when she sees the pictures of his car stuck on the beach. He'd have a hard time explaining that after just a couple of pints. I did enjoy the pints we shared at the hotel and want to say to everyone thanks for the friendship, the chance to meet again and the possibility of doing it again.

It was another one of Fred's enthusiastic ideas. Unfortunately it didn't work out for him.

I must say we had a lot of fun digging out the car and debating on if we should push it on the hard sand to the sea or push it back up the slope.

Everyone worked really hard to get the car out. Kigerka lend his carjack and got it back full of sand. Gecko had some great ideas on how to get the car out. Ultraplanet, Gecko and me used our hands and wood trying to dig the car out.

All in all it worked great for teamspirit. I'm glad the car came out okay!!

It's ok though, Harri got it out, but only because the policeman told him to do so..
