Hello forum members: Glad to start here and hopefully participate and contribute to the enjoyment of our toys..

Cutting to the chase.. Have a 05' 545IA with 10K.. This week took to dealer because of an issue with tranni shifting very but very hard when shifting down to a stop when driving, like for example, in parking lot with various speed bumps where you accelerate then decelarate to almost complete stop and then accelerate aggain etc..
The transmission would shift down and then up I guess, with a big bang so hard that almost give you a whip lash... No kidding!!!

The dealer first had hard time downloading software because kept locking in middle of nine hr process... According to them! Finally after two days the software downloaded. My qustion and comment is that I have been readuing that the latest version is in the 15's, yet the report I got said that "As per SI# 24 03 04 CPI version 21.02 was installed.... What do you guys think.

Also, is there a manual of sorts, with list of improvements or features with this new software???

Thank you!!

Luis

Don't know where you were reading about CIP version 15.x being the latest (it's clearly not) but it looks like you now have one of the more current versions.

Also, it's quite common for the car to crash when getting the new software so taking two days is pretty much standard.

Welcome to the forums!

You don't. Only the dealer can tell you.

THIS PLACE IS A MINE OF INFORMATION! My 535D has been doing exactly the same thing, but the dealer's response has been to blame the torque of the engine and to recommend that I drive in Sport Mode (it makes no difference). Now I can show him where to look.

Thanks Cobradav.
