i've always dreamed of renting a track for a day to do whatever and the hell i want. the rates for a full day at buttonwillow are not outrageous. now, i'm not sure about the insurance requirement. we'd have to look into it. i just think it would be fun as hell to take my e60 and my 996 and tear it up.

plus it is somewhat central to all of us in california.

That is far! It'll have to be another Central Cali Meet. I'm not sure how many would be up for going to Buttonwillow for a day of racing. Besides, we have two upcoming Meets. One in March and the other in May. And of course, the ocassional Socal Launch Meets.

Did you know that the El Toro Air field in Irvine can be rented? The M5 folks did it some time back.

It's not cheap. Lots of moolah $$$$: $2500 plus insurance ($1000) = $3500

Just go through one of the organizers like speedventures. I believe the rates for a buttonwillow event will be around $250ish.

There's plenty of porsche events if you mainly one to run with one type of car.

yeah but how much fun would it be to make as many runs as you want. when you want. how you want. those events are cool, but sometimes they just seem to organized. never enough track time. although a whole day does seem to be a little overkill, i know.

that doesn't sound to bad to me. even the 5g for the other tracks i looked at didn't sound bad. if i got to do everything that i wanted to. skid pad, 1/4 mile, street track. that would just be a blast. i'd just have to figure out where we could get a fifth wheel and all the gear for testing.
