In case any of the UK guys are interested to go or have feedback from previous attendance.

"If you own a BMW and would like to explore your cars true performance, then look no further - we have the trackday for you.

We have teamed up with BMW Car Magazine to bring you another trackday for BMW owners. Whether you have a 318 or an M5, all BMW's are welcome as a rear wheel drive car on a racetrack is a recipe for some serious fun! After all, BMW's are the 'Ultimate Driving Machine'

The day will be run as an open pit lane ? giving you the flexibility to go on and off circuit as much as you please.

Don't worry if you are a novice, we will be running minibus rides around the circuit with our race instructors prior to track time commencing. They'll be able to offer you a few tips about track driving before you head out on circuit in your own car. The first 20 minutes of track time on circuit will be sighting laps where you can go out behind a pace car at a limited speed and familiarise yourself with the circuit.

Our friendly, professional instructors will be on hand throughout the day to offer advice and in car tuition, helping you perfect that ever-crucial racing line and advanced your driving skills.

You are welcome to bring a friend along too as either a passenger, spectator or if you are feeling trustworthy, additional driver. If you don't have a helmet then these are available to hire for a small fee.

The BMW Car team will be here on the day, handing out the latest copy of the magazine and other goodies. The event will also be covered in a subsequent issue so you'll have the chance to get your car in the magazine!

We look forward to seeing you here!"

Sounds fun!! I wish BMW would do that in the U.S. but we are too law-suit happy for that to ever happen. From the notes above, they certainly allow things such as passengers that would never be done on U.S. tracks.

In the U.S., we have 3 options:

1. Pay $500 - $1500 (for the ///M school) per day at the BMW Performance Center, or some other tracks, use their cars, and get professional instruction.

2. Pay $150 - $200 per day at a car club event, sign waivers, follow all track rules re run times, groups, passing, etc, & have an instructor with you (if a beginner), and with no non-qualified passengers, etc.

3. Wait for the once a year on-track "charity" events, pay $25 a session, and follow a pace car around the track at street speeds. Why even bother.
