I think it's about 50 miles. The time is contingent on how many slow cars are in from of the Bimmer crowd.

I don't know the exact time. Most likely around 4pm - 5pm. There will be Road Rally flyers handed out as you enter the Earl Warren Fairground.

Nice photos Ken. Thanks for sharing!

So can you guys fill me in on this road rally thing? Is it a part of the event and what does it include?
Not sure about the status of the rally this year, but last year it was made "unofficial" due to liability issues with accidents and whatnot. For the most part, this is a very safe drive, but accidents do happen. There was also some questionable or possibly unsafe driving by a few others that also led to the rally being taken off the bimmerfest agenda. Unfortunately, this led to a drastic decline in attendees for the rally in '06. Hopefully more people will go on the drive this year. I've mentioned it before, but the caravan to b-fest and the road rally really are the best parts.

Not sure what time it starts, but I'd assume around 4:00, and usually right after the raffle. I normally get my fill with bimmers quite early. I then make my way to state street for a little food/shopping break before returning to b-fest and the raffle/rally.

Steve Dinan had a little seminar last year and I think he's having something this year as well. I think that might be something that would interest you.

Here's a panoramic pic of the road rally a few years back. There were some other pics that were really serene, but I can't seem to find them.

VT - Did you do this drive last year? My buddy and I were almost about to, everyone was there and ready to go but we bailed at the last second because too many cops were on the lookout for us so we just drove home............ Maybe we can do it this year, it's a lot of drivers........

BTW, I had to return my orange vest when the job was over, they wouldn't let me keep it

Go here for more info about where the Socal Caravan will be meeting at The Oaks Mall. We are set to leave Thousand Oaks at 7:30am and get to Santa Barbara by 8:30am. I don't see why we can't meet up with the Norcal guys for a few minutes and then head on over to the Fairgrounds. Our combined caravan should be at the gates by no later than 8:45am.
