Joe - You should read this 1st, points get reflected on your NJ license from out-of-states. I wouldn't take it so lightly.

As far as the VW guy... I think those commercials are messing with Jetta owners' heads. They buy a lot into the turbo crap and think their econobox is indeed sooo fast... Luckily this one wasn't the Wolfsburg edition, the extra badges make the Jetta so much faster than an M5, that we would've been embarrassed.
glad you made it... when i saw you @ dimminck inn and i was like what the hell?!! he driving supersonice speed

if you currently have no points, adding this 2 points is not a big deal. your ins rates will not be affected and will drop off after one year anniversary date.

ps. thanks to everyone's patients for waiting for the unknown guy

I have to disagree. Points stay on permanently in NJ.

Below is what the NJ MVC states on its website:

How can I get rid of points on my record?
Although MVC keeps a permanent record of all the points you've earned, it is possible to earn point deductions by remaining violation and suspension-free for one year or by taking qualified driving courses approved by MVC.

Note: Your insurance company might not factor these deductions into your insurance rate.

read it again... its 2 parts.
1. they keep a permanent record.
2. points can be deducted if you remain violations free for one year.
so what this means is, joe got a ticket for 2 points, joe remains trouble free for one year. those 2 points are deducted, even though those records are kept permanently, but now has zero points on his license. so its not a big deal, unless you start racking up additional points within that year.

insurance companies have their own rating system that factor all variables in determining your rates. so merely having 2 points is not an automatic rate increase.

Thanks Mel Missed you at this meet again... You better be at the Aug 22nd one! Or ban

Jimmy, David, points stay for 39 months in 99% of cases with the insurance company's records. I also believe - though I'm not 100% sure on this - that to insurance companies it does not matter whether points transfer or not from out of state, so it might affect Joe's ins. rate.

Joe, I'm very confident you can plead it down to 0 points if you go to court. As bonus for going, you can run the route back on the way back - to celebrate another victory
