+1. well said ecf. condolences go out to his family and friends.
+2

I just got off the phone with my buddy Pete Fagerlin (997 twin turbo norcal track guy) and he knew Luis from track days.

Hits home even more.

I don't drive "slow", but I certainly know my personal limits!

About a month ago, my neighbor's friend in an Audi club crashed into some boulder off of Skyline doing about 100mph. Luckily he survived although I don't know his current state. I hope he's okay but the stupid thing about his accident was that he supposedly had 2 40s before the drive.

And if I recall the rangers or whoever maintains that road have put loose gravel on the road to prevent racers from driving wrecklessly....
This does not prevent drivers drive wrecklessly, but we should call it murder. Putting loose gravel on the road is just like murdering any drivers driving on that road. I'd shoot those rangers who put those gravels on the road with a full AK-47 magazine without hesitation.

In regards of Luiz's tragic event, I feel deeply sorry about it and, like Tony said, it's a kind of wake up call for us.

I was glad that I forwarned you guys about that dangerous route. For Saratoga is OK, but we might take shorter route than the one we drove before.

Well I'm not sure how many drivers are experienced with curvy mountain road driving but we should all be cautious of the surroundings. Obviously nothing stupid will be tolerated (except for VTs barfing episode) and I'm not worried about my driving, but possibly the driving of others. Since we may be a larger group driving we all need to keep our eyes opened and have good judgement on distances and speeds.

But hey we're all here to have some fun and relaxation. If it makes anyone feel better I'll put VT at the back of the line, we especially don't want to drive on any slippery roads

i agree. that drive was close to 1 hr. and could be longer if we get stuck behind some slower vehicles. great drive though.

Update: You can scratch off Walked U the list. I was just in contact with him. I think he got the Bay Area Meet confused with the Wheel Power Meet in Socal.

Honestly, I didn't expect too many of the Socal peeps to drive up to the Bay Area Meet. Only ones I know for sure are Boob and kmslo530i.
