Holy crap Mel, my night went the exact same way - got home from the gym, turn TV on, and promptly changed the channel. We will see how Lee pitches on 3 days rest, CC can pitch better than he did and he can pitch on 3 days no problem. Tonight, it's Pedro "who's your daddy?" Martinez - let's hope we smoke him.

The problem last night wasn't CC. While he did not pitch brillantly (like Cliff Lee did), holding an offense as good as the Phillies to 2 runs is not a bad outing. The problem last night was that Cliff Lee pitched an unbelievable game and the Yankees' hitting sucked. And the Yankees' middle relief was nightmarish. You are going to lose games when you walk batter after batter in clutch situations.

Well, Pedro Martinez, at this stage in his career, is no Cliff Lee. I expect that the Yankees' bats will come back to life again.

Agreed, the Yanks bats were dead wood yesterday. I still think CC could've pitched better, 2 fastballs down the middle to Utley? He knows better than that.
Also agree that the middle relief was horrid, WTF happened to Phil Hughes?!?!?! During the season he was lights out as setup man for Mo, during the playoffs he can't find the strike zone. Marte pitched decent, but it didn't help that runners were on 2nd and 3rd already. Still, I am anxious for game 4 when CC on 3 days faces Lee on 3 days, that should even things up.

Where is all the energy and enthusiasm the yanks had all year long? they look so up tight and nervous. Matsui (spell check?) is lifeless at all times, it annoys the shit out of me. Where is Nick Swisher?...Mr funny guy isnt so funny now that hes hitting like a 11 year old girl. Swisher needs to step his game up or Joe needs to give him a nice padded seat in the dugout.
