I need to share one piece of MAJOR advice to all of you from when I had my 3 series a few years back.?
I was on the highway at night and a tractor trailer lost some tread.? It cam flying at me and before I knew it, it was planted in the nose of the car.? I never got the info of the truck as it was in front of me and I had to stop to check the damage.
The insurance company asked if the debris was in the air on on the ground when I hit it.
MAKE SURE YOU SAY IT WAS IT THE AIR!!!
IN THE AIR = UNAVOIDABLE AND NOT YOUR FAULT.
ON THE ROAD, NO MATTER WHAT, = YOUR FAULT AND GOES AGAINST YOUR COLLISION, PLUS THE INEVITABLE SURCHARGE.
Thought that might be important if you are ever in the same situation.

OUTSTANDING!
Did the insurance company want the license plate of the tractor trailer?
Much obliged!

Reminds me of a story... I was following a pickup truck on I70 through Denver one day going about 75 and he had one of those round glass top patio tables in the bed. That thing rose up out of that truck just like a UFO and followed it along for awhile, I had plenty of time to back off and get in another lane before it exploded in a billion pieces on the road Just the glass top - the table was tied down

Reminds me of the cast iron stove that was bouncing around in front of me in the fifities. Fortunately I only got a flat from a jagged piece of cast iron but for a minute it looked like the stove was going to do me in. No, he didn't stop to help.
