How's the ladder?

Attaboy, FF. Well, I'll have to resort to a bit of conjecture, but I think OK. I was concerned about the string of cars behind us, but everything seemed to be moving normally as observed through the rear mirrors. The last time I saw the ladder it was sliding true up the middle of the lane that the truck was in, so I guess everyone was straddling it. As close as they were following each other, some had to be shocked to see it there suddenly appearing from under the car ahead (if that is what happened).

When it flew out, the truck applied the brakes, drove a bit, and took the first exit -- I took the second. The first exit offered two things for the truck driver. First there was a Home Depot there at that exit so the ladder could be replaced and work could continue. The second opportunity was to do a loop about and risk life and limb trying to pick up a 100-200 USD ladder.

If it didn't go well, it will make a small item in the Dallas Morning News.

No need to worry, the yellow forklift is clearly the larger one. Now if they would do it the other way around...

I need to share one piece of MAJOR advice to all of you from when I had my 3 series a few years back.

I was on the highway at night and a tractor trailer lost some tread. It cam flying at me and before I knew it, it was planted in the nose of the car. I never got the info of the truck as it was in front of me and I had to stop to check the damage.

The insurance company asked if the debris was in the air on on the ground when I hit it.

MAKE SURE YOU SAY IT WAS IT THE AIR!!!

IN THE AIR = UNAVOIDABLE AND NOT YOUR FAULT.
ON THE ROAD, NO MATTER WHAT, = YOUR FAULT AND GOES AGAINST YOUR COLLISION, PLUS THE INEVITABLE SURCHARGE.

Thought that might be important if you are ever in the same situation.
