Hi,

you guys in US have already the XBox 360 available. I've a preorder in germany where it should come out on the 2nd of December.

Unforthunately we hear here not only good things about the Box:

It's loud (vent & drive)
It's crashing (sometimes even after 5 mins.)
It's getting extremly hot

Are owners of a Xbox360 present? Can you give us your impressions about the new gadget? How's gaming? Does it crash? How's the noise?

Currently I'm tumbling between cancel my preorder (and getting it maybe in half a year with a new revised version) or getting/testing it (with option of sendback)... can't decide.

Beside that i've preordered: Tiger Woods, CoD2, NfS: MW and Fifa06

Well with anynew item there will be a few bad eggs. I and around 5 friends have not expierenced this or heard of this. I like the new XBOX 360, it is a much improved version of the orginial. I did not preorder mine but was able to get one from a friend for face value. I have seen the 360 sell for as hi as 2000.00 US. Which to me is out of this world. The running hot has not been an issue with me even after a 5 hour straight game session. As far as it been loud i also have not noticed this to be a problem or even make a comment on it.

I am not happy about the game price increase, but after a decade of the 49.99 price it was a matter of time before this happened. I bought the call of duty 2 and it is great!!! I have been playing it since i bought it. The 5.1 DD is great and makes the house shake with every explosion. The use od HD graphics make the expierence a complete feeling. I will be buying the Football and basketball today as well as another wireless controller. Keep in mind I'm 30 and married with child and well lets say i was really pumped about the system but now that i have it i have a feeling it might sit unused more than used. But time will tell but its a must have for any gamer or fan or great graphics and gameplay. they did a nice job i will post a better review once i complete it.. thanks

Xbox 360 Rocks! Picked mine up after waiting in line on Tuesday Morning at 3am. Got mine at Sam's Club and it came with 2 wireless controllers, but was pricey at $449.95US. Picked up Tiger Woods Golf, NFL Madden Football, Call of Duty 2, Need for Speed, Underground, Project Gotham Racing 3. All games are awesome and the graphics are incredible. In NFL Football, you feel like you are actually at the game, the graphics are good.

In the car games, graphics are great as well. Shadow and reflections look real. The sound is MUCH improved over the old Xbox. Dolby 5.1 Simply Rocks and is incredible. I have been playing mine on a DLP HD TV and all I can say is HD rocks.

The cooling fan is definitely louder than my regular X-box, but that is OK. As far as crashing is concerned, mine has been played for over 4 hours straight, during Thanksgiving and did not crash once. Size is nice and the wireless controllers work much better than my previous Xbox's Logitech Add Ons. You will not be dissapointed when you get yours.

The only dissapointment is for those who didn't get a system, as it looks like it will be very hard to get before Xmas, here in the states.

how is the golf i just picked up the NBA live and man it is something out of this world.. I too have been running it on an HDTV sony 65' VVEGA and man its life like, let me know if the golf is better than my org. XBOX version thanks

If you have Tiger Woods 06 for the regular Xbox, it might be better just because is it two years newer, but 06 graphics and the Dolby 5.1 is freaking awesome. I have been spending all my time playing this Damn Xbox 360, when I should be driving my 550 and getting to the magic 1200 miles. I have about 950 to go.

I am 1 of only a few that have managed to get hold of one in the UK and I got it the morning of release!

i absolutely love it .. Best games I've played are PDZ and PGR3.
Unfortunately I am not running it on HD as yet... kind of new to us Brits and not long ago bought a Plasma so reluctant to fork out another ?4k for a nice new 50" HDTV.

I totally agree the sound of the fan(s) are way noisier than the old machine .. but then it's running 3x3.2ghz processors so to be expected. you only notice it when you're not playing a game anyway.
loving the new "standardised" version of xbox360 Live!

no issues with crashing as yet, unless i'm playing PGR3 and that's just down to bad driving!!
