Update:
My sister is out the hospital, she's sore and working on her recovery. Also, the baby that was involved is also ok, which is very good news.
My cousin is starting to get real agitated, because she's starting to feel the pain and doesn't like the tubes that are in her. Even tho she's moving, she still hasn't woken up from her coma. So hopefully, everything turns out ok. The doctors had a meeting with her immediate family this morning around 9:30 about her condition, as soon as I found out anything, I'll post up. THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYONE'S SUPPORT AND PRAYERS, means a lot!

I don't know how I missed this thread but sorry to hear about this horrible accident, I pray for everyone's complete recovery. As for your cousin, it sounds as if she suffered a closed head injury, resulting in a severe (grade 3) concussions which often results in prolonged loss of consciousness this recoverable and one often see improvement in hours or days, but residual effects can last for weeks. My hope is that this is what she has. Brain contusion (bruising of the brain), hematoma (bleeding), are a little more worring because they can lead to cerebral edema (brain swelling).
I am glad to hear that she is getting agitated, the next thing to look for is purposeful actions (showing 2 fingers, sticking out her tongue, squeezing hands etc.) all of which are good signs. Remember though that pain medication and sedation can blunt these responces so don't loose heart if she dosen't follow commands right away. Hang in there, God's blessings to your family.
