The trouble is that the starting XI for most of these teams has a significant number of non-English players. Liverpool for example has a strong Spanish contingent, (Reina, Torres, Riera plus others) contingent plus others from Brazil (Lucas, Aurelio), Argentina (Mascherano, Rodriquez), Italy, Netherlands, Israel, Greece, France, Denmark, Slovakia plus a few more countries for good measure. Liverpool can (and sometimes does) field a team comprising no English players at all, as could the other sides on your list. Liverpool's first team squad comprises 38 players, with only 10 as you say being English.

The problem is that Englad has a bunch of good players that have never played together as a team.
