If a driver was changed to add support for another device, perhaps the newly supported device ID wasn't added to the INF file?

You should be able to look up the info to figure out what it is.

I didn't update anything, i didn't plug anything new nor did i unplug anything, didn't run any program...i just booted up the PC and got this message.

As with all the idiotic Windows messages i just had to press "ok" or "close".

PS:What do you make of this ? For the first time ever i saw an OS showing me the option of "safe removing" a RAID device (i have 4 HDDs in RAID0 in 2 pairs).

Maybe that Nvidia chipset is also used in server hardware where there is hotplug/hotswap, hence the driver adding what seems to be a strange option in your case. I'd think that this is something the driver folks would be responsible for though, not Microsoft.

Well, considering it only popped up once i think it was a Windows hiccup rather than a driver issue. And no, that Nvidia is the 790i Ultra (MOBO) and the RAID is not hotswapable especially in a RAID 0 (strip). If i would have removed one of the HDDs while it was working i would surely have damaged the array.
