A year ago, I woud have said without hesitation - another BMW definitely (I have driven BMWs since 1986). But with all the problems I have had and still have with my car, and I hate to say it - I am not so sure anymore. The first year of ownership has been quite annoying and I catch myself wishing for a car without any problems.
If they were to bring the Diesel to the US, I would probably go for that.

5 series touring. If Audi ever made its A8 mega touring/"shooting brake" from the show circuit a few years ago, maybe. Or if BMW did a 7 series touring: wide, long, low, overpowered, with lots of cargo room and 2 teeny kid-size folding seat aft. I know, it sounds like an abomination, but I will not get an SUV, yet family needs will press me for a larger vehicle.
