I am watching lock up on MSNBC. i usually watch the Lock Up marathons on weekends because I have limited channels in the office.
Usually prisons throughout the US have a lot in common. Prisoners in America spit and throw excrement on prison guards. they run around stabbing eachother. they are complete animals.
TONIGHT... I am watching Lock Up, they are touring a prison in Belgium. These guys aren't wearing handcuffs... they dont need to be! they are sharing chocolates with the prison guards. they are wearing polo shirts, tucked in with slacks. they dont curse at eachother, instead they just say "cheers". A new prisoner arrived and another prisoner left biscuits in his cell for him..
I want to move to Belgium. If these guys are the lowest of society, the outside world must be like candy land!
Edit: These guys get paid in prison, have access to their account, buy snacks from the prison shop. They have telivisions in their cells. one prison has a "sex room" where you get 2-hour sex visits!

That's pretty funny. Well I guess in America there is incentive to NOT got to jail.... now I want to go to Belgium prision...sounds like a country club to me

Ironically, American wives are not as hospitable as Belgian maximum security prison... mostly Well, at least the stats tell us that more than half the "inmates" eventually escape

One guy tried to escape, so they sent him to a max security prison in belgium. When they were interviewing him, he said the food there was just as good as the finest resturants in belgium. He said they make think he is an escape risk, but as long as they keep serving him that food, he isn't going anywhere!

And besides, at least in Germany, they educate you for free!
Oh yeah, forgot to say, if you kill somone, you will not go to jail for more than 7 years with a good lawyer.
