The issue two of Australian Luxe magazine ran a tongue and cheek guide "What Watch Are You Driving?", matching watches with the cars you drive, or the other way round. And this is what it says:
IWC->BMW
Three initials conjure up all that needs to be said. Prestigious and powerful models. Some comment over new design direction. Slight arrogance of ownership.
...and some others:
PP->RR
Rolex->MB
Omega->VW
Panerai->Hummer
Frank Muller->Lambo
Breitling->Aston
Seiko->Toyota
Casio->Subaru
IWC->BMW

Interesting thread. I guess I'm very predictable: I wear an IWC. A wedding gift from my wife (she heard the non-subtle hints that I like IWC watches).

[/quote]Yeah, I guess so. If not I would not have been so obvious about posting this otherwise uninteresting reply regarding my choice of timepieces!

Don't get to show my small collection much...

G-Shock: Used for military deployments.? This watch has been on deployments with me to Somalia, Kuwait (twice), Bosnia, Macadonia, Afganistan (pre-war), Iraq (semi pre-war), Thailand, Uganda (long story), and 2 yrs in Korea.? Its seen 48 parachute jumps, about a 1,200 miles of ruck marches, "4 conflicts - other than war", maybe twenty countries, collectively about 20 days in Amsterdam? (pre marraige of course), and one divorce, and much more.? This is the "Mother******" of all watches!? It takes a savage a** whipping and laughs it off!? Because of the history, this one will go to my son.
Breitling Blackbird Limited Edition: My everyday watch.? Very heavy but durable.? Got a few drops inside from diving in Phuket (diving in the sea not woman).? Service rep said I had a bad seal.? Got two free bands (there about $50 a piece).
Cartier Tank Americana: Aaah..? the classic.? My dress/casual watch.? Rarely wear it because I like the Blackbird, but switch when it gets too heavy.? This is a beautiful watch.? Took money for the kids college fund for the purchase!? Just kidding...? No really I did..?
Cartier, Must de: Worn three times I think.? White Day gift from wife (V-day for us in the US).? I hate this watch.? Too small a face and the band is gay.? It has the deployment strap and my wirst is the size of a gorilla's.
Franck Muller Long Island:? Evening watch.? Let me father-in-law talk me into this purchasing this in Tokyo.? Rarely wear it.? But its a beautiful watch, you can't see the details well in the photo.
Swatch:? Nice little piece I purchased from a Bosnian street kid.? He'd stolen about ten of them from the Swatch Store in Sarajevo.? Got a good discount because I was "chocolate!" (Black American).? Also bought about five bottles of Aqua De Gio he'd stolen.? You'd be amazed what you can buy after a war...? Its basic Darwinism.
Not shown...? A. Lange Sohne Friites..? Got this is Berlin.? Brought it when I was walking around the city during a major race riot!? The dumb American I was...? Dad borrowed it and then broke it...? I liked the watch alot, but he put me through college and grad...? How can I complain?
Thanks for letting me share them with you guys!
