Sid really is a great role model for our youth (you could say he passed up Tiger Woods as one of the top ones these days ) and I feel lucky to have such an all around good guy playing here in Pittsburgh.

I hope the NHL (and hockey in general) gained some new fans tonight not only across North America but across the globe as well!
+1 . . . that is the exact discussion I had with the family as OT started. 3 of us were pulling for Team USA, but our 13 year old (henceforth she will be known as Benedict Arnold ) was rooting for Sid and Canada.

I am a member of a sports discussion board here in SE, MI and you can't believe the anti-Crosby animus I read yesterday. I'm sorry that USA lost, but happy that it was Sid that won the game for Canada. I am also grateful that he plays for my hometown team, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

What a fitting follow-up to the gold medal game as Ryan Miller and the Sabres travel to Pittsburgh to take on Sid and the Pens tomorrow (Tuesday) night.

You mean for the part that a USA based and trained player scored the winning goal???

Apparently we're knocking on the door of their very own game. They really had to work hard to get the win. They may not be so lucky next time. This reminds me of the close basketball game of USA against Canada in the summer Olympics. Oh, wait a minute, they have nothing else...
