So I was at a greek festival yesterday and parking was pretty rough. I happened to find a spot close so I said to myself "just this once I'll park close. I'll be fine" So I pulled into the spot (next to a large paint van) <-- big mistake. Being as psychic as I am, I loooked at the paint van's logo, and put the number in my phonebook. Sure enough when I looked at my car this morning there was a nice ding on the rear, driver's door. Seeing that I backed into the spot, the paint van's drivers door would've hit in that exact spot. And the mark has white around it (the color of the van).

The question is, I have his number and I know it was him, because I washed and waxed and would've seen that spot; how do I handle this? Just forget about it?

Thanks

Nothing you can really prove. I would chalk it up as a bad experience and find a good paintless dent removal shop to get it fixed...

feel bad to hear that, but too bad, nothing you can do about it
one of my friends parked his benz on the street, and went back to his car after an hour or two, found his front grill broke into the front bumper, obviously it was the car in front of him backed into his car, while he was thinking what to do, a police car went by and he reported to the cop, well the cop said too bad, he couldnt prove or didnt have evidence to show it was that car in front of him
so he just took the lost, i think about $200 from benz OEM chrome grill

You'd be on the losing end of either of those trades.
