In the late 70's, and fresh out of High school and I starting working for the public safety dept., in the EMS section,
Before I even thought of purchasing a BMW in 2004, a lot of my local Marietta GA police friends was telling me they were receiving daily reports (NCIC) that a lot of BMW's were getting broken into on the side of the roadways in the NYC area, and the perpatraitors 
were breaking out the BMW's windows to gain their entry,,,and the police in NYC out of frustration having to work these many calls gave BMW's their own name: "BMW stands for: Break My Window" (LOL) sad, but a true story ...
