This was sad to watch and I have to admit myself that I have texted and drove.. as I think we all have..(maybe not ALL, but most)

Anyways, it brought tears to my eyes. From the chopper it didnt look like such a bad accident, but to witness it up close and personal is a whole different story. Sorry to bring on the gloom and doom, but I thought this was something we can all learn from.

Thanks mel. Someone posted a similar link yesterday. Nonetheless, it's sad to watch.

Some published reports claim that texting while driving creates as great if not a greater risk than drinking and driving. Trust me, I don't condone either, and after coming a short curly hair from being side swiped at >75 MPH in my e60 by a phone wielding 20 something in a Chevy Equinox a few weekends ago, I am prepared to proclaim that all non hands free phone conversations are hereinafter forbidden.

If societaly we increase the penalties for driving while texting to the equivalent of drinking and driving, then we may get people to stop texting.

Graphic PSA, but too long to be effective IMHO.

thats why you should be careful when you text and drive.

i can actually text without looking at my phone at all. i drive takes more attention then me texting. i have stopped while i drive anyway. i do text at red lights though.
