So far I am the oldest person on this board at 67+.? Maybe that's why the E60 5 Series doesn't look as good to me as the E39 and E34.

July sales report should be out tomorrow.
I think you forgot about JDN...
Yep, I've got that youngster Fred by at least a decade.

But I don't have a July sales report to offer so that makes him my better.
JDN:

I think it has been over 50 years since anyone called me a "youngster". I like the "ring" of those words.

May I suggest that the originator of the poll add the 70 age category as you need to be included.

Excellent northernmonkey, another inspired UK owner . Update your location and sig - it helps in future discussions as there are many many regional differences between the cars.

northernmonkey,

Welcome to the site.
I see from you sig your car is a Dec '03 and you only had it for a week. So you get a good deal on your car out of interest? There's another post about depreciation etc so was wondering.

thanks for the welcome like the site !!!

the car I bought was ex-demo with 4K miles. priced up equivalent new model on BMW car/config www page, came to just over ?41K inc tracker. dont like to name figures but lets just say I got it for more than ?11.5K less than that web price took some haggling though.

I think a lot of private buyers have been lurking waiting for the nearly new/demo E60 models to move near the ?30k mark before jumping in, on the day I bought my car the dealer hadn't sold any of their E60 stock, 6 at that time, for 3 weeks. on that day they sold 5 !!!!

what swung it for me in the end was that my car had service inclusive with it and the nice wheels...sad i know. i did look at and liked the 530d's but these commanded a significant premium and in most cases had poorer spec, as i don't do mega miles i was more than happy with the 3.0i.
