BTW the Panerai is a great choice because first off its beautiful and second you can always sell it at a very very minimal loss if you get bored of it.
I purchased this one a few years back before they had really become as popular as they are today. As I think some others on this forum can tell you, they have a bit of a cult following. The look hasn't become dated in any way (only more popular) and can be tweaked with a change in the band (i.e. type of material, texture, color, stitching, etc.)
On a related note, in the last few years watch faces have been becoming much larger. I think Panerai was a major force in driving that shift.

I don't know if Panerai was a major driving force in popularizing larger watch dials, but that's a gorgeous watch, no doubt
The classic Panerai shape dates back to 1950s, if I'm not mistaken, and the large dial is actually functional - this is a diving watch, which necessitates as large a dial as possible to be more visible under water.

Don't know about you, but for $200/year, I expect a watch to be "timeful", not "timeless"...
BTW anyone into Hublot?
Love the way they look

correct me if I'm wrong, but I think your above statement can be summarized as:
"I did it to pick up chicks"
In which case, let me know how it works - I might get some tungsten too oh, wait, I'm not single... never mind... dammit Craig!

i dont think it would shock anyone around here if i said i do like a little bit of attention.
But in reality, I bought the watch because I like it and it makes me happy.
