Looks like I'll be heading over to Greece. Thessalon?ki to be exact. I'm attending my sisters wedding there.
I wanted to get some advice from our Greek members here. I have a few questions
It's my first time to Greece...any travel tips for visiting Greece? I plan on staying 2-3 weeks...will that be enough to take in the sights and the full beauty of Greece and the surrounding areas? any advice will be appreciated.

Great news!!!
Don't miss a visit at Halkidiki seaside. It is one of the most beautiful places in Greece, at least in Summer.
Afitos village and Sanni beach are my favorite places on Kassandra peninsula, but Sithonia has got the natural beauty
It is worth one's while.
In winter period, prices are logical, much cheaper than the summer, when indeed, it's over-priced.
My advice: Don't go at a restaurant with beers and cokes bought from the super market and ask waiter one salad for three person's lunch ...you won't have good service then This is a method that local and neighbour tourists use to do in their holidays and that makes most of the tourism interest shops offer bad services on them.
Busta, If you have a trip in Athens on plans, PM me.
Nick

If you plan on renting a car, make sure you get an International Drivers Permit. Stop by the AAA and pick one up. It may require a photograph so check ahead first.
If you are going in the off season, prices will be more reasonable for hotels although not all restaurants may be open.
Driving in Greece can be crazy, especially on their freeways. People assume the shoulder is just another driving lane and even use it to pass!!
Northern Greece is quite pretty in and around Thesoloniki. Reminds me of the mountains around Banff.
If you can get to the south, Peloponese is nice and easy to get around. See the archeological sites of Mikines, Nemea (my home town), Olympia (where the Olympics originated), Nafplio, etc.
Park your car in Corinth and take the high speed train into Athens (saves driving and parking in Athens). Use the metro or cabs to get around in the big City. One day in Athens and you can see the main sights.

hmm Can you explain why? I'm generally a nice guy ...especially to the ladies. I don't want to offend anyone
I have to admit that Salonica is more civilized city than Athens. You will have good fun there in Nea Krini, where most of clubs are located.
