a friend of mine is looking for a reliable mid-size pickup truck. he's down to two choices: toyota tacoma access cab or nissan frontier king cab. has anyone have experience with either of this two trucks? which one is better? i've heard the tacoma is like a typical toyota: quiet, reliable and very good quality. nissan is more fun to drive. both of them are about the same price. which one will you pick and why? thank you very much

I had toyota and nissan in the past and I would choose toyota for it's reliability because it's not fun to be at the dealer/garage getting your truck fixed...just my .02.

My wife had an '03 Nissan Supercharged 4x4 Crew and my father in-law has an '04 Toyota 4x4 Crew. I liked the Nissan much better. The price was similar, and you got more for your $ with the Nissan - it's faster, smoother, more fun, more comfortable, and better looking (modern)in/out (IMO). The Toyotas have bulletproof reliability, but the Nissans are quite reliable, too. The Toyota is much more of an old-school truck, my father in-law likes it because that's what he wanted. The Nissan has more of an SUV feel to it, catering more the the younger & adventurous crowd. We liked the Nissan so much that it was replaced with another one (new Pathfinder).
