Great that you are still around and able to share your story ... I had my personal "wake-up" moment on January 20, 1983.

My Ride: '04 545i Sapphire Black/Black 6-speed Manual, Sport, AS, CWP, Navi, Premium Sound, Bluetooth, iPod Adapter.
Hey Joe,
Glad to hear you are doing much better! That must have been scary. Life is precious so its important we don't take it for granted. And thanks for sharing the message about helmets. I actually just signed up for a 100-mile Cancer ride from (Worcester to BC) Is this the same one? I haven't started my training yet! Let me know. Speedy recovery.

Holy Crap Joe! Sorry to hear about the accident, but so glad you're OK. 35 MPH is a lot of speed to go bouncing down the road. A helmet is one of things we buy in hopes we never have to use it. Obviously if you hadn't been using it, your head injury would have been serious. Congrats on being smart and get well soon.

Thanks. No, I remember everything. I was just very, very lucky.
Thanks, Pingu. I actually look like quite the stud with a helmet and spandex on. Sort of like a piggie-in-a-blanket.
Yes, Chinese food is always the best cure.
Thanks, Cal. I feel very, very lucky, especially after my fellow riders said that they thought I was gong to die for sure. I now have to figure out now how to redeem myself with my second chance at life.

oh man! I flipped over the handle bar on my old Gary Fisher in '03 - severe concussion, half the face was skinned - I actually scraped the pavement with the right side of my face. Ear slightly torn. Vision blacked out for like 15 mins, but remained conscious - SCA-RY! Never rode again. Tried a couple of times, but nope - too much fear. Can't enjoy it anymore.
Anyway, just saying, I know how it feels. Be safe! Glad you're okay, bud
Now, go slap that sexy nurse where it jiggles
