Makes sense to me. I love the anti-marijuana argument that it impairs your driving. No shit Sherlock. So do pain killers, Benadryl, alcohol, etc etc. Nobody is advocating smoking and driving. Alcohol is a far worse drug, IMO.

Yep - legalize it and tax it. Compared to alcohol and tobacco, it's far less harmful and there's really no reason why it's treated differently. Plus the world would be a much cooler place if we were all stoned...

+1.

But the politicians are too interested in their "war" on drugs, which distracts attention away from the fact that they such at running the country. It will never happen in the U.S. We're too puritanical a country. For the same reasons, prostitution will never be widely legalized in the U.S. Better to ignore it, not regulate it and pretend that it doesn't exist. Whatever.

True. Everybody wants to get re-elected so nobody advocates a realistic solution to a controversial topic. So they vote "no" on the floor..., then they go home..., spark one , and call Heidi Fleiss.

Yep, you're exactly right. That's essentially what's happening. It would make so much more sense to legalize it, regulate it and tax it.
