Well, several million iPads says they might just be on to something.
There's not that much you see handled in Flash today that can't get done in HTML5 or can be handled much better in an app. Video and ads remain the primary users for Flash. You can keep the ads, many of us run blockers anyway, and a significant amount of Flash video actually uses H.264 as the underlying codec, with the Flash component being limited to the container. Either way, Flash remains a resource hog and I think a transition to an efficient open standard has to be in everyone's best interests. Microsoft also supports the transition to HTML5, so it's only a matter of time before Flash becomes essentially redundant.
