Just want to thank all those people that work in ER's and EMS to help others.

Friday late evening, 11:49 pm, I was in a severe crash with my tow truck and for the first time in my life (and hopefully the last) I was taken to the ER right from crash site with an ambulance.
The way those EMS people treat you is extremely professional and you really feel much better as soon as they arrive at the scene.
It was also amazing to notice that it took the three ambulances, the fire truck and the police 3-5 minutes to arrive at the crash site.

And thanks to MB for building this truck that saved me from ANY severe injury! Even without airbags!

I am BTW stunned that the Mazda 6 is build so strong to allow a passenger to survive this kind of accident. When I?ve learned that the car had a passenger in the passenger seat I feared he is dead, but survived, hospitalized though.

Well, it's an open case.

I know I am not guilty but need to wait what the police investigates.
Will post more once I am through this.

I was in my towtruck (pick-away truck, that's the one with a crane) on my way home. It is an MB 9t vehicle, which has a weight of 6t when empty, and I hit the Mazda on the right side, right in the middle, exactly on his B-pillar, and his side was pushed in about 1 foot. My speed was 50 Km/h, and when I saw him it was too late, reacted instantly, but started "braking" whith all force and standing wheels just when I hit him. 5 metres of braking after a quick reaction. The Mazda was thrown across the intersection and stopped about 90 feet from the actuall point of impact. It needed to be openend by the fire fighters to get the passenger out. I made it out myself and then collapsed.

I don't know yet.

Maybe totalled, could be a frame problem.

Good to hear you are OK Iceman, I hope the occupants of the Mazda will all be OK in the end.

Your comments about the professionalism of the Emergency Responders is quite correct.
