Interesting. They imply its a 3 Series but no other details. They're impressed the Chargers caught it but if its a non sport pkg car, I think its limited to 135ish. If its a sport pkg, it could hit 150 but it still has a limiter and the Chargers don't. Lesson 1: Make sure it is delimit-ed before running from the police.

I wonder if it had run flats. If new, most likely. Would spike strips stop a car with RFTs? A guess is it did have RFTs and she was able to continue driving for a while until the tires over heated. Which is likely if all 4 lost pressure and where running on the stiff sidewalls where its only rated to 55mph.

A $22,000 Dodge not only caught up with but probably could have passed an expensive German vehicle," the sheriff said, laughing. "I wonder how much BMW will pay to keep this quiet."

What a joke .. it's prolly a 328 and a woman driving it (no offense, ladies).

Hahaha that COP has obviously never heard of something called a "track" try sailing that boat of a Dodge around a track and see what happens. And yea, it was a chick at the wheel

Um, they did say not only was it a chick at the wheel - she was drunk too. So those Dodges with SOBER(we hope) policemen could keep up with a 3 series. Ooh I'm impressed, aren't you? Let's see how those cars do against a sober good driver in an M3, my guess is not so good.

There is a reason they only show the crappy cars on all those police shows, the good cars always get away Hahahah

Buddy of mine had a E46 M3 and he was going 100+ down a street near his home, he saw the lights in his mirror, but by the time the cop even got off the grass and on to the road he was already WAY ahead, he just kept going and pulled into his garage and never got busted. Not 100% sure if the story is true, but he doesn't really lie and he is a crazy man behind the wheel

Let me get this straight. Someone tries to outrun the police, putting others in danger. She happens to be in a BMW and happens to get caught by the officers in their Dodge. And the conversation here is how an M3 would have out run those police officers?

Unbelievable. Better get your priorities right, guys.

Since everything turned out okay and no one was hurt we can go ahead and move onto the semantic discussion of what the police said. Not out of bounds at all.

OK. Tell me when a discussion about outrunning the police is ever acceptable.
