I don't think anyone's right on this thread.
Both are coming from their respective 'patriotic leanings'. It's ridiculous to ridicule another country's brand over the other. Different price brackets, different markets, different uses/needs, different everything. There's no need for this kind of talk of belittling other products just because it's 'indian' -- that's what I got from the thread.
I don't care if there's a big Chrysler badge on the latest Benz S-series or a fat 'opel' on the latest Lambo. I'll just pick and choose what I personally want to drive. You don't see me whining about how so-and-so company is diluting another company's brand, etc.
This kind of talk goes on and on. Why pick on Tata? Why not pick on Audi owning Lambo/Bugatti and argue that such ownership cheapens those brands?
Why not this..? Why not that? Why am I even bothering to post?
Yeah, why not just go on and on and on......
This forum is suddenly feeling like some other forum out there...

i did not see an "indian issue" ??
=just a car one??
bottom line is i wont be putting a skoda or lada badge on my BMW.
and if i still had my 355F1 i would defenatly not put a tata logo on her. (she was bad enough as she was)

Let me throw some fuel into the fire here although it's not 'my fight' but I can't resist!
Mark, why be pissed at the fact that an Indian company owns two of your country's brands, Jaguar and Land Rover? Who gives a s**t who owns what and where?
Who really cares?

i wasnt going to say anything on this, but as people keep saying "who cares where there made"
well ill tell you who cares...the 100 thousand people who have been made redundant because of tata, all the satalite companys that were supplying rubber/electrical etc, products and the huge midlands based workforce that are now unemployed...and so on, this was dire for the UK motor industry (whats left) so YES, it is a big deal for us, and YES i care who makes them
you would not be smiling if a russian billionare bought out BMW, and then "raped" it.
asset stripping comes to mind.

Looking at your location I can see why your so protective of Tata, tongue in cheek buddy, tongue in cheek , if you think a little badge on the front of a Ferrari will help sales tho I think your misguided, but thats just my opinion and I wouldnt expect an Indian to share that.........maybe I should rave on about how wonderful Rover was - buhahahahha
lets not get bent out of shape by what Indians do or think; I am Indian, dont care for Tata autos. But anything that can help a failing auto company with historic value is welcomed. love a team, dont love an owner
