Cops are hunting today for a dangerous ex-con suspected of brutally attacking a man as he posed as a potential buyer of his BMW.

Barion A. Blake, 30, fled on foot Wednesday morning after he crashed Akeem Ajimotokan?s 2008 BMW M3 into a livery cab stopped at the intersection of Dyckman Street, 10th Avenue and Harlem River Drive in Inwood, authorities said.

Cops found Ajimotokan, 33, in the car?s trunk, bound hand and foot and his ear nearly sliced off. They believe he had been locked there overnight.

Ajimotokan, an administrative worker at Columbia University who lives in West New York, NJ, is in stable condition in the intensive care unit at Harlem Hospital, police said. He?d advertised the "fully loaded" car on the Internet with a $46,000 asking price.

Blake lives in the Inwood Houses, near the crash scene.

A woman who identified herself as Blake?s wife said today she doesn?t know his whereabouts. "I?m looking for him myself," she said.

Neighbor Ronnie Cabrera, 42, said Blake gives him the creeps.

"He?s a very scary man. He doesn?t look like a normal guy," Cabrera said. "He always looks like he?s ready to attack you. A big, strong, scary guy."

Blake, described as black, 6-foot-7 and weighing about 215 pounds, has been busted in Queens, Nassau County and Bergen County, NJ on car theft charges.

He might have a fetish for BMWs ? he was charged with stealing them at least twice before Wednesday?s incident.

Blake spent four years in New Jersey lockups before he was paroled in 2006.

Soon after New Jersey sprung him, Blake was busted in Queens for assaulting a cop who found him driving a stolen Acura.

That led him to serve time in New York and again in New Jersey for violating parole before he was freed again last April, records show.
