Unfortunately the world have last a huge wild life figure, Steve Irwin. Famous for the show called "Crocodile Hunter", Steve Irwin just passed away recently in a "freak accident". This thread is to show condolences and respect for a great wild life figure. Rest In Peace.

I was shocked last night when I heard the news. There is one thing that I didnot like about SI is that he used his baby on the show closed to the croc one time, and he got criticized about it. From then on he no longer use his child on his show.
All in all, I really like him and all his dedicated works, and I mourn for his permanent leave from us :'(

Thank you, 525iSE for creating this thread to salute to the man who is beloved by billions of human beings living on earth. His spirit still lives on in our heart.

Sincerely,
Fred

...that he used his baby on the show closed to the croc one time...
That was his Baby, but he used his oither child very often, not just once.
That shows that he felt very safe and was controlling the situation, because he would have never put his beloved childs in any kind of danger.
I guess if one of his kids would've been there with him under water he would still be alive.
But when he was on his own he was taking more risk...

Very sad. In the American coverage, there is a quote from the person who was with him saying that they always thought that if he was going to be killed in action, it would likely be in the ocean. The same person said that he just wasn't as familiar with the dangers there. With that said, it only killed him because it speared his heart - anywhere else on his body and he'd still be with us. Hence the notion that it was a "freak" accident.

I always wondered when (not if) this was going to happen. Just watching him do that stuff made me uneasy. I always thought it seemed strange that in all likelihood his death would be caught on tape or film. It turns out that it was captured. I hope that it is kept under wraps - it would be far too crass to have it floating around on the Internet or nightly news programs.

I feel most sorry for his children. Not only have they lost their father at such an early age, they'll have the haunting moment of his death just a few mouse clicks or button presses away for the rest of their lives.
