had my E60 for just 11 mths and already I can hear squeaking sound (like old chairs) inside my car.
A check with our local forum confirms that its normal, some even said its because BMW may have uses poor (or even re-cycle material) rubber door seals!
went down to our one and only official service centre for BMW, and was told "yes, its the door seal problems. We just need to paste some friction tapes (from 3M!!!!) to erase this prob;em...
can you believe BMW is unable to solve this problem til now?

i never had such probelms with my old Honda or Nissan cars.

My car is a peice of crap. the shifter fell apart the other day, it barely starts, and makes noises from every seal. every day I drive it, the more and more turned off by BMW I am. I really think my next car is going to be a porsche cayman. I should find out if they are as bad.

Ah yes, the door seal creak. I eliminated most of it by lowering tire pressure to about 30-32. Try it. YRMV.

i can fix a broken window with duct tape. While I respect your thoughtfullness, that doesnt change the fact that there is a problem.

Console yourselves with the idea that since BMW is a premium automobile, only the finest examples of old world craftsmanship loosen up and fall off of it.

seriously, you guys dont have this problem or I am going to accept this fact?
friction tapes...OMG! but thankfully, this tapes work! Its just that, BMW design a car of brilliant concept but cant get those engineers to solve this squeaking sound issue!

Ford currently has better initial and long term quality rankings than BMW.

Are they famously bad for that? I've often thought about getting a Mondeo. They're really well-specced these days (or at least can be) and don't look bad. I saw quite a few 18 month old cars with low mileage for half the price of a new one.
