glad you got out of it (fairly) ok. you're right - sometimes we go over a hundred without thinking about it, but when you shared how much it costs... *whew*!

And let's be careful too in comparing point values to offenses. TO do that properly u need to include the time (duration in months or years) and distance (total points) it takes to lose one's license. It appears in CA it could only take 4 points in 12 months to get to that point while in many other states that total would be much higher (12, 15, 18 etc) in 12 or 18 months. So speeding at 100 in CA worth 2 points might be FL equivalent of 4 or 6 points (don't know and don't plan on testing theory)

I did accumulate enough points in VA (license state) with able assistance from Maryland and Pennsylvania traffic cops making point contributions to spend time in VAs traffic courts and traffic schools to stave off a loss of license. All prior to acquisition of V1. Since then only the DoD cops on military installations have had my number

Hey, are you saying that the 525i is slow? I drive a 525i and guess what... it has the same top speed as the 545i (150 MPH according to BMWUSA.com) .
