After 5 days in the hospital, my 16th month old son was released from the hospital today . My wife and I have been spending 24 hours there. It was really scary to see him hooked up to all the tubes and wires.

Since I am back now, I need to catch up on all the good E60 talk.

That is a tough and trying ordeal for young parents. Went through it myself years ago, but only lasted a few days. Glad things are back to normal.

Great news! I know exactly what it's like to have a child hooked up to all the equipment...

I won't bore you with too many details but I went through a similar experience with the birth of my daughter. She was born after only 24 weeks gestation (4 months premature) and weighed only 1 pound 9 ounces at birth. She spent 6 months (yes, months) in the neonatal intensive care units of three different hospitals before coming home.

The good news -- she's just fine now. Every doctor and nurse we see say she's truly a miracle baby and that they rarely see babies come out of these situations without a myriad of problems, etc.

Take a deep breath and try to get your life back to normal -- I'm sure it was tough time for you and your wife. Welcome back!

Glad to know he is okay. Our daughter was in twice for lack of O2 intake. After a few day ordeal in teh Hospital her intake went back up and finally released. It sucks having to watch our child be hooked up to machines.

I'm happy that your son is safe out of the hospital. I don't have kids (yet). I hope I will be able to have them one day. I cannot imagine how you feel as a parent when such a small baby is in the hospital..
