I have my car listed on ebay and CL. A fellow member informed me that he found this ad in his local CL. Not my ad at all, as Im located in Houston, TX not Chicago. This is someone trying to scam!!!

He even used my information I had posted on ebay about the car.

http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/ctd/1421800225.html

This F'n pisses me the off!!!

What can I do about it?
I flagged it a couple of times...don't know if that helped!

Thanks guys for all of your support! I really appreciate it! This just shows us that there are so many scams on CL and anything of the same sort. These people these days will do anything for money. F'n bastards! I was kinda like damn, can't you use someone elses ride...? I mean wtf?

Let this be a lesson to all of us looking for a new ride. If it sounds too good to be true, it propably is. Make them prove to you that they actually own it. This is not the first time I came accross an attempted scam. This is the 4th or 5th one this month that I've spotted as a scam.

Now, if they really want to sell their car and if they do in fact actually own it, they will go the extra mile to prove to you that they do in fact own it.

Make them wright your name on a sheet of paper and have them take a pic of the car in the backround.

Again, thank you guys!

Guess ya might have to start applying some protection across images / pics posted. If you give permission that's one thing but outright thievery is another. Is there some way to post in a CL Forum that a seller's item may not be as represented because they are using a photo that is someone else's vehicle??

I think they keep on trying these scams because CL just simply removes the listings. CL and others should work with the FBI and local authorities to initiate the transaction and catch them red handed. The local authorities seem to think that prostitution is a bigger problem than this because they conduct prostitution stings all the time even though no customers get hurt or scammed out of their life savings, while they continue to let the real scammers get away with murder.
