JUst love the looks of that car even with a 1.8 engine. With this version, its even more stunning. Thank god no Chris Bangle in VW. That fart would have killed the scirocco looks for sure with his stupid light designs and mixture of curves and straighlines.

thanks for the post. I can go to sleep happy now.

cheers

I was a VW fanatic before I got into BMWs. My brother and I both had black Scirocco IIs with full BBS widebody kit, euro bumpers, wheels, suspension, full engine work (ported/polished heads, headers, intake, high lift cams....etc..). I even had Racing Dynamic wheels on my car. hahaha

It would be sweet to have one of these if they ever came to the US.

I used to love Scirocco's. One of my buddies had one when I was younger, I had my Dodge Omni 024...I was quite jealous. I would love to see this car back in the US as well.

Tony, any pics of your Scirocco??

Unfortunately no. I wish I did. The only thing I have left is a picture of the sound system in the trunk. I forgot to mention that it also had a full system with the top of the line Alpine deck at that time, with HiFonics amps, speakers..etc.. The speaker box filled the trunk and it had a plexiglass cover on top to display the woofers and amps inside. I'll try to get it scanned.

I recall it was fine. It was my daily commuter and I used to drive it about 70 miles roundtrip each day to college. The car had Neuspeed springs, swaybars and front strut brace and Koni adjustable shocks. My brother and I have always talked about finding a clean Scirocco 16V (mine was an 8V) and restoring and modding it again.

That one looks pretty clean, except for the engine.

Man I don't remember when the last time I saw a Scirocco on the road.
