This one is so easy preschool children know it. HA!

************************************************** ************************************
PRE-SCHOOL TEST

Pre-school children were asked the following question:

"In which direction is the bus pictured below traveling?"

School Bus-bus.jpg

Look carefully at the picture.

Do you know the answer?

The only possible answers are "left" or "right."

V

Think about it

V

Still don't know?

V

Okay, I'll tell you.

The pre-schoolers all answered "left."

When asked, "Why do you think the bus is traveling in the left direction?"
they answered:

"Because you can't see the door."

Feel pretty silly now, don't you?

I dont!

Well, as adults we can accept that the depiction is rough and crude, and as such we don't expect it to have all the components and parts a real bus would have. Our expectation (at least mine) was that it didn't need all the normal items. I could see how a child would expect the door to be there though since even crude representations or drawings they make would contain little details like that. I'd also expect to see a driver as long as we're talking about what's missing. We -should- be able to see that. Silly test.

And the red stop sign... after all it's the left side of the bus

I guessed left, but the reason was that since I was reading on the left side of the screen, I focused on the left wheel and kindof led my mind to see a weight transfer, so the gap in the left is bigger than on the right .
