That's amazing. I love installation pieces like that. She's very talented. I dated an "art school girl" when I was in grad school. She used my toe nail clippings in one of her sculptures. It did not end well between us. Last I heard, she was working at a Kinko's in Kansas City.
She should have dated Calton, she might have done better than Kinkos

Art school people tend not to bathe that much--let's leave it at that. When I broke it off from "art school girl" she took up with a latex artist. I had been to this dude's apartment once for a party--real horror show. Kind of like an old Nine Inch Nails video with animal skulls used for black candle holders. Every piece of furniture was covered in nubby black latex. Someone later told me that he always made a latex vibrator for his girlfriends, using a plaster mold of his own penis. That always seemed a bit self-defeating to me.

I heard that after he broke up with "art school girl," he got a job doing costume work with some Spielberg company.

She was pretty weird, which was attractive, for a while. The sculpture had these crescent moons on it, and she felt "connected" to me by slipping a few of my cut nails in as little moon shapes. She often named pieces after dead relatives. Once she made me a satin pillowcase, and somehow I lost it. I know, how do you lose a pillowcase? Anyway, several months later when I was moving out of my apartment, I found it in a drawer--no idea how it got there. When I saw it, I was reminded of her, and for a couple of minutes I contemplated keeping it. Then I realized that I was out of garbage bags, and stuffed it full of junk and hauled it to the curb. Utility often wins in these things.

I think it will ONLY work from one angle. If the picture was taken from another angle would it look the same? I don't think its very smart. Art is becoming a joke these days when we see what they try and pass off as art.

cheers
