I've been to Ozumo; was pretty good but I haven't been to enough Japanese/sushi restaurants in SF to say if it's among the best or not. That's C's specialty. Look at his gut.

For Asian Fusion, also try Ana Mandara (http://www.anamandara.com/) or Thanh Long (http://www.anfamily.com/portalpage.html) or even Crustacean which is related to Thanh Long.

Le Colonial is a great French-Vietnamese fusion restaurant. I was most impressed by their desserts.

This will be a definite consideration .One of the "troops" was just in Vietnam and had a"Food Moment" that won't go away so she would really appreciate the thoughtfulness of this reco !!

Thank you !

Did you make your Napa dinner plans? Is The French Laundry on the list? may be hard to ge reservations at this pont, but if you can, it is well worth it. It gets my vote for best restaurant in the country.

Expensive taste you have their Rob . We should hang out more often . Hahahahaha! Just curious, but have you tried Per Se (Thomas Kellers other restaurant in NYC <Time Warner Bldg> or Masa (the most expensive restaurant in the country, that also happens to be right next door to Per Se in the Time Warner building too)? Avg bill at Masa runs around $400-$500 PER Person. LOL!

One of these days, I'm going to have to bite the bullet and throw down $1000+ for the wife and I for a meal at that place. Nuts!

Another great restaurant in Napa is Tra Vigne. The former Chef/Owner, is none other than, Michael Chiarello. It's under new ownership now, but if the menu continues to be similar to what it was when I went there years ago, it'd definitely a great place. And it won't break the bank like The French Laundy will, although I doubt you'll get a reservation for TFL this late, unless you happen to call right when a cancellation comes in (rare, but possible).

Thought I was the only food geek around here, but apparently not!

Maybe we should be planning a late afternoon meet and greet followed by a gourmet dinner. How about a cruise on the Taconic Parkway followed by dinner at Blue Hill at Stone Barn? http://www.bluehillstonebarns.com/bhsb.html

I've heard great things, but have never been. Thanks Rob!

I would definitely be interested in doing a cruise and ending at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, although I think it might only end up being you and I for dinner. Hahahahaha!

Thanks for the tip Rob. I'm going to take my wife here the weekend after the 4th. Much appreciated!
